Stacey Solum Prescott is a curl scientist, educator, salon owner, author, and creator of CURLtelligence™, an evidence-based framework redefining how the beauty industry understands naturally curly hair. Through her research, writing, speaking, and education, she is helping bridge the gap between traditional cosmetology and modern hair science.
A licensed Master Cosmetologist with more than 14 years behind the chair, Stacey holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Marketing, bringing together expertise in human behavior, business strategy, and hair science to advance the beauty profession. Her work integrates cosmetology with psychology, biology, chemistry, and emerging technologies, challenging long-held industry assumptions through evidence-based education.
Stacey is a contributing author to the Board of Certified Haircolorists professional textbook, where she authored chapters on client consultation, communication, and the science of natural curls. She is also continuing advanced studies in trichology and cosmetic science, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and raising professional standards throughout the industry.
An award-winning salon owner, international educator, keynote speaker, and U.S. Army veteran, Stacey has educated hairstylists across the United States and internationally. Whether she is teaching from the stage or working behind the chair, her mission remains the same: to equip beauty professionals with the scientific understanding and critical thinking skills needed to deliver exceptional, evidence-based results while elevating the future of the profession.
